| 101 in 1001 update |
[31 Mar 2008|10:46pm] |
So I got thinking today about this project and was feeling very far behind. Yup, I needed to do an update, and things are actually going quite well. I'm plussed about getting stuck into some of the rest of the jazz on the list ^_^ ( 101 in 1001 days )

I'm feeling trapped. Cabin fever is setting in, because I haven't left the house all day (A trip to the shop for some fresh air and tasty snacks is called for). Day 4 photograph. I'm not sure about it's artistic merit, but it describes my emotions at the moment rather well:

I've been, or will be posting all of my project 365 shots on my flickr account, but I guess I'll put them up here also. Here's day 2:

For today's photo - which I haven't decided on yet, we went to the zoo. It was quite the depressing experience, a dull and dark experience. The animals were quiet and motionless for the most part, either eating, sleeping or pacing. I wonder for what purpose, we continue to have zoos. Entertainment, education, some form of preservation? None of those traits were obvious. I don't know.

| project 365+1 day 1 |
[03 Jan 2008|07:16pm] |
Starting Project 265 today. A bit late ^_^ I know, but I managed to carry my camera around all day ,even though I ended up taking my first photo at home. And *wee* check it out.
Nick bought me a sewing maching! It's got over 34 programs, 4 art stitches and 14 digital stitches so I can do embroidery and other fancy trim. I'm scared of the machine and the quick needles, I hope I get over my fear and can start creating beautiful clothing and toys. This is defiantly going to help towards 31. Sew some clothing that other people would like to wear 32. Spend a week planning and making an awesome Halloween costume .. although it may take a while for no. 31! My first project is going to be a simple bag which I can carry my dSLR around in within my handbag, my camera bag is just too cumbersome to take everywhere. We also bought two lunch boxes and some smaller containers to put inside them in order to create our own bento box (no. 8) Even thought I'm not back at college yet, I think I'm going to make some sushi later on if I can convince Nick to do the main part of dinner cooking. Tomorrow, I'm going to begin draft eight of my paper, hopefully getting it to some semblance of a finished article before I go back to college. I'd really like to get a couple of weeks of lecture slides done for my lectures. I'm so excited that they're taking me back for more ^_^ I'm starting to love this lecturing jazz, especially now that I have lost the fear. Maybe I'll even be able to sew together some lecturery looking clothing over the next couple of months. Tweedy. Oh and da took this photo of me out on Tequila over the xmas...( it's pretty )

Sooo, I've failed No. 90. Pass my driving test (It's tomorrow January the 2nd at 3pm *eepe*) but I'm editing it to say February 21st because I have another test on that date!!! I pulled a Zoolander - I can't turn left! Got done on speed and observation turning left and a few little things. Boohoo, Nick and I are commiserating with a bottle of Champagne although. So, happy out.
Also, a few plans for No. 84. Calculate my carbon footprint and cancel it out - I don't want to just pay for trees to be planted, I'm going to: - Eat as locally and organically as possible and - Replace my light sources with natural, full spectrum and/or energy efficient sources
And to no. 80. Create 101 graffiti art installations, I'd like to make some origami cranes and leave them attached to trees by string at the park =)
I'm making a list of things to buy tomorrow to help with my creative tasks and FLYlady routine =) Feeling productive.

I've recently joined jan1_2008 in order to take part in the 100 things in 1001 days challenge. The challenge was initially created by Michael Green
According to the website...
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
And so my list: ( 100 things to do in 1001 days )

It's time for adventuring
I've been spinning around the countryside in Elmo, I have a new feeling of independence. It's quite nice, today Nick and I found moss, holly and white thorn to make xmas wreaths. I drove up to see Tequila and have her numnah in my car for a wash in the morning. I plan to head up and clean the tack tomorrow. See if I can convince Charlotte to give me a hand. Um, went out to Strandhill to watch the surfers. I'm terribly jealous of their passion. We climbed the dunes although.. I'm awfully unfit, but reaching the top was great, as was sliding down the 70 or so degree drop. ( adventure photos and tasty cakes )

The cake is supposed to say "Vegan" but it looks more like Vegas.. Piping words is way harder than I expected. I had hoped that the cake would look well fancy, but that didn't quite work out. I don't have the bag skills! Looks tasty and tastes great!! I'm making another one sooon =)
